Sherry Elizabeth Payne, age 67, of Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away on April 12, 2025. Sherry had a compassionate heart and dedicated her life to caring for others. She worked as a Registered Nurse for many years at Claremore Regional Hospital, where she was known for her kindness, professionalism, and unwavering support for her patients. On September 7, 1980, she married the love of her life, Billy Payne, Sr. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Married for 44 years, Sherry and Billy traveled across the country and enjoyed many cruises together, creating memories that will be cherished forever. Sherry was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a proud grandmother. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren, whom she loved deeply. Her warmth, gentle spirit, and generous heart touched the lives of all who knew her. Sherry’s love, laughter, and legacy will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Billy Payne, Sr. of the home; sons, Joe Jones and wife Amanda of Pryor, OK, Jacob Jones of Arkansas City, Kansas, and Billy Payne, Jr. of Pryor, OK; stepson, Billy Joe Payne of Pryor, OK; daughter, Katherine Knight of Stillwater, OK; brother, Rusty Hymes and wife Marceleta of Royse City, TX; sisters, Joyce Morgan and husband Delvis of Austin, TX, and Tina McSwain of Quinlan, TX; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Jodie McSwain, and her brother, Charles McSwain.
