Stanley Darrell Anderson (gather.app)
Stanley Darrell Anderson, 82, of Pryor, passed from this life on Friday, May 21, 2021 at his home. He was born on July 20, 1938 in Lebanon, Missouri; the son of Stanley Anderson and Marie (Elam) Anderson. At the age of 15, Darrell started washing dishes at Thomas Restaurant and worked up to owning the restaurant in the early 80’s. Darrell was a very hard working, generous man, and retired in 2015. He also faithfully served our country in the United States Army Reserves. Darrell was a member of Cowboy Gatherin’ Church and enjoyed being a part of his church family. He had many hobbies, working at the restaurant, watching the grandkids show cattle and play sports, and taking them fishing. He was an avid OU sports fan, especially football and softball. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends and he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Services for Darrell will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Cowboy Gatherin’ Church in Inola, Oklahoma with Roy Shoop and Gary Blackford officiating. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Cemetery with Zach Frailey, Lance Swift, Jim Armontrout, Randy Melton, Nathan Willis, and Brent Mibb serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Shipman’s Funeral Home. To leave his family a message, please visit his Tribute Wall at www.shipmansfuneralhome.com. Darrell is survived by his son, Darrell Anderson II and wife Sonya of Claremore, Oklahoma; daughter, Penny Frailey and husband James of Pryor, Oklahoma; brother, Gary Anderson and wife Sandy of Miami, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren, Derek Frailey and wife Bailey, Hannah Swift and husband Lance, Dolly and Braydon Anderson; 5 great grandchildren Zach and Kash Frailey, Berklee, Finlee, and Kayzlee Swift; and a host of other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Marie; wife, Barbara; brother, Dean; and sister, Jewell.
