Stanley Carey

Stanley Carey, 77, of Adair, passed from this life on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at his home. He was born on October 26, 1942 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma; the son of Harlan and Lucille (Harris) Carey. Stanley married the love of his life, Ruth Ann, in Tahlequah on July 16, 1962 and together they have 4 children; Samuel, Tracy, Suzanna, and Shirley. They have spent 58 wonderful years together. He was an avid sports fan, and loved fishing, traveling, and politics. Stanley loved to spend time with his family, especially spoiling his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, and great grandfather who will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Funeral services for Stanley will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2020 at Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bob Davis officiating. Stanley is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Carey, of the home; sons, Samuel Robert Carey of Adair, Oklahoma, and Tracy Glen Carey of Louisiana; daughters Suzanna Rachel Prock of Adair, Oklahoma and Shirley Roseann Leach of Catoosa, Oklahoma; sister, Charlotte Hopkins of Stilwell; 8 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harlan and Lucille; and sister, Molly.
