Steven Allen Rudd, age 71, passed away peacefully in Wagoner, Oklahoma on February 22, 2024. Steve was born in California, and moved to Seminole, Oklahoma around age 2, then to Tulsa, and graduated from Adair High School, and later joined the Navy. Steve was the son of Joe and Pasty Rudd of Adair, Oklahoma, who preceded him in death. Steve had 2 sons, Shawn Rudd of Adair, Oklahoma, and Tim Bronson of Pryor, Oklahoma; two granddaughters, Maggie Grossman and Madison Bronson; and two great-grandsons, Malcom and Cooper. Steve’s siblings are brothers, Scott Rudd of Vinita, Oklahoma, Chigger Rudd of Adair, Oklahoma, and sister, Scarlet Harris of Jacksonville, North Carolina.
Steve traveled throughout the United States his entire life, living fully and engaging in experiences many of us only dream about. He had great jobs that he excelled at. He was exceptionally skilled as a backhoe operator, often working on sides of mountains for the railroad. He collected tiny glass bottles he found while digging. Steve loved to fish and cast a line. Steve also had a notable career working as a bouncer for Cain’s Ballroom and backstage with Little Wing Productions, setting up for stage bands, like Guns N’ Roses, David Allen Coe, etc.
3Steve loved his Harley. He was happiest when he indulged in wind therapy. He made friends everywhere he traveled. But the people he called friend were his faithful few, knowing no matter when or where he might show up, he could crash on a couch, take a shower, or just sit on a porch and tell stories of the adventures he had. His passion for his friends was rare, he cherished each of them more than they will ever know.
Though Steve always made an impression wherever he went, he was ALWAYS known for his exceptional manners and politeness. God broke the mold when he made Steven Allen Rudd. May he rest in peace, on the big ride in the sky.
