Steven Husband

Steven Ray Husband, 61 of Pryor, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 in Pryor, Oklahoma. He was born on August 14, 1955 in Pryor, Oklahoma; the son of Doyle Albert and Emma Jean (Wilson) Husband. He married the love of his life Shirley Newman in July 2, 1977. Steven faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged on May 1, 1978. He worked for Amco as a lab technician. In his spare time, he read history books, went camping and crawdad hunting. He was a simple man that loved his family. He looked forward to spending time with those he loved most, and cherished every minute he had to spend with them. He leaves behind many memories for his family and friends to hold dear and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 12, 2017 at the Redemption House of Prayer in Pryor, with Reverend Dan Hazelton and Reverend Junior Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in the Bryan Chapel cemetery with Terry Elliott, Steven Husband, Alan Linell, Wayne Hodson, Danny McDonald and Bill Phillips serving as casket bearers and Larry Elliott serving as an honorary casket bearer. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, June 11, 2017 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. Steven is survived by his wife, Shirley Husband; son, Steven Husband and wife Jo Jo of Pryor, Oklahoma, Kevin Newman of Pryor, Oklahoma, Jason Edwards of Pryor, Oklahoma; daughter, Amanda Husband of Pryor, Oklahoma; brothers, Terry Elliott and wife Mary of Pryor, Oklahoma, Larry Dean Elliott of Inola, Oklahoma; sister, Betty Hodson and husband Wayne; mom, Emma Jean Wilson of Pryor, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Doyle Albert Husband and Grandma, Omal Husband.
