Steven Rogers

September 26, 1950 — October 11, 2019

Steven Harold Rogers suddenly passed away October 11, 2019 in Adair, Oklahoma at age 69. A Celebration of Life service is planned for 2 p.m., Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the South Grand Lake Christian Church of Langley. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Salvation Army, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, or The Alzheimer's Association.

Steve was born September 26, 1950 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Harold and Wilma (Muncy) Rogers. He graduated from Paden High School, class of 1968, and went on the attend East Central College in Ada. June 23, 1970 Steve and Deborah Navrath were married in Prague, Oklahoma. In 1972, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in history from East Central College. For 42 years, Steve was employed by Locke Supply, retiring in 2015.

Retirement meant more time could be spent with his family. Steve was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great – grandfather and especially enjoyed playing with his grandchildren.

An active member of Langley’s South Grand Lake Christian Church, Steve’s desire to help other took the form of missionary work. He also lifted spirits up through music; playing guitar and giving special song performances with his wife, Debbie. Not only did they perform as a couple, Debbie and Steve (her “sexy boyfriend”, as she affectionately called him), loved traveling together, taking cruises, boating, fishing and cheering on the Sooners.

Friends and family will fondly remember Steve for his quick mind and sense of humor, as someone who liked reading, trivia and corn hole competitions, playing cards and games, wood – working and telling a good joke.

Steve is survived by his wife of 49 years, Debbie, son and daughter in law, Josh and Gina Rogers (Pryor, Oklahoma) daughter and son – in – law, Amie and Cliff Orcutt (Chouteau, Oklahoma) brother, Jeff Rogers and sister Kim Rogers (both of Paden, Oklahoma). His grandchildren include Elizabeth Anderson and Ayden Rogers, Noel, Brooklyn, Isabella, Quaid and Quincy Orcutt and a great granddaughter Jillian Woodell. He was preceded in death by his parents.
