Susan Brown

Susan Elaine Brown, 61, of rural Adair, passed away on March 14, 2019 in Claremore. She was born on September 12, 1957 in Pryor; the daughter of Ralph and Margie (Kinion) Ables. Susan graduated from Pryor High School in 1975, and married Buzzy Rand. Susan had a son, Brady, before Buzzy’s passing in 1976. She married Duane Brown in 1978 and they have celebrated 40 years of marriage. Susan worked for Adair Public Schools for 28 years. She devoted herself to the school, the teachers, and the students. She loved working the ticket gate at all sporting events in Adair. She enjoyed giving everyone a hard time and she was a good sport about taking it back. Susan was a loving mother, devoted wife, and an amazing “Sumi” (Grandma) and faithful Christian. She was an artist, crafter, and loved traveling.

Susan is survived by her husband, Duane; her mother, Margie Ables; brother, Bob Ables and wife Tari; sisters, Patty Potteiger and husband Tim and Pam Sien; sons, Brady and wife Ricquel Rand and Bobby Brown; daughters, Audra and Geoff Miller, Amber and Reggie Ramsey, Annie and Brandon Gaffney; 14 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by Ralph Ables, Frank Ables, Margaret Couch, and Sheila Jensen.
