Sylvia Coats

Sylvia Ruth Coats, 70, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2012 in Grove, Oklahoma. She was born on June 8, 1941 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the daughter of Verl Wheeler and Sylvia Rose (McKim) Wheeler. She worked as a waitress for the Windjammer in Oregon. She and her husband, Ron moved from Oregon to Oklahoma, making their home here since that time. She was a member of the Langley First Baptist Church. Sylvia enjoyed flower gardening and cooking for her family. She was a wonderful homemaker, making her family her number one priority. She dearly loved her grandchildren and her time spent with them. Sylvia was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be so very missed by all who knew and loved her. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the Spavinaw-Strang Cemetery with Brother Leon Shade officiating. Interment will follow with Ron Coats, Ronnel Coats, Daniel Coats, Lucas Coats, Logen Coats and Karen Pugsley serving as casket bearers. She is survived by her husband, Ron Coats of the home; her sons, Ronald Leon Coats of the Strang, OK and Daniel Lee Coats of Fountain, CO; her daughter, Karen and husband, Douglas Pugsley of Dundee, OR; her five grandchildren, Clara, Olivia, Lucas, Logen and Elizabeth; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Verl and Sylvia Wheeler; her brothers, Veryl E. Wheeler, Basil Wheeler and Merle Wheeler.
