Terry Nichols

Terry Wayne Nichols, age 68, went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 28, 2021. Terry was born at home on August 30, 1953 in Clio, West Virginia to Roy Ray Nichols and Melba Vernace Ashworth Nichols. He married the love of his life, Jan (Dry) Nichols on June 26, 1989. Together they built a life of 32 years filled with family, friends and their commitment to their Heavenly Father. He was a proud member of Word Fellowship Church in Chouteau and assisted in their bible school. Terry enjoyed working on the farm, operating heavy equipment and spending every opportunity he had with his grandchildren. He also loved getting into mischief with his brothers-in-law, Melvin Pritchett and Stu Henderson. Terry’s family will miss his wonderful sense of humor. Even in his final days he brought joy and comfort to his loved ones through his humor. Having served 22 years in the armed forces, Terry was a very patriotic man. He loved to be involved in any opportunities to serve his country and honor fellow veterans. After Terry retired from the military he worked at Salina Public Schools as a custodian and a bus driver. He loved the time he got to spend with those children. He also worked for District 2 as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator in Mayes County.

A memorial service will be held for Terry at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at Word Fellowship in Chouteau, Oklahoma. A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, November 1, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Shipman’s Funeral Home. Terry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tony Nichols; brother-in-law, Tom Nichols; two sisters-in-law, Martha Nichols and Carol Slack. He is survived by his wife, Jan Nichols of the home; three sons, Joseph Nichols of Peggs, Oklahoma, Chad Nichols of Morgantown, North Carolina, Keith Nichols and wife Shannon of Buckhannon, West Virginia, and Tanae Parry of Wasilla, Alaska; grandsons, Justin and Dakota Price and Noah Nichols; granddaughters, Courtney and Caitlin Parry; siblings, Leon Slack of Lillian, Alabama, Teddy Nichols and wife Connie of Elizabeth, West Virginia, Timothy Nichols of Walton, West Virginia, Betty Nichols of Spencer, West Virginia, Diana Walton and husband Bill of Spencer, West Virginia, Sandra Walker and husband Delmas of Ganderville, West Virginia, Sally Anderson and husband David of Walton, West Virginia, Shelia Voelker and husband Bob of Timonium, Maryland, Stella Nichols of Spencer, West Virginia, Glendia Moore of Disney, Oklahoma, Ronald Dry and wife Louise of Salina, Oklahoma, Judy Pritchett and husband Melvin of Salina, Oklahoma, and Regina Henderson and husband Stuart of Jay, Oklahoma; extended family, LA Mills Family of Rose, Oklahoma, Donnie Cowan Family also of Rose, Oklahoma, Amanda Price of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.
