Velma "Strutton" Neel, 96, of Pryor passed away on January 19, 2011 in Pryor, Oklahoma. Velma was born on November 15, 1914 in Mulhall, Oklahoma, the daughter of Ed Ella (Wortham) Wesley. Velma was employed by the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma as a secretary. She and her husband Rev. John Strutton moved to Pryor in the early 1970's, he preceded her in death in 1987. On August 4, 1989, Velma was united in marriage to Rev. Dale Neel. They attended the First Baptist Church of Pryor where they were active with the Keen-Ager's enjoying traveling and being with all their church friends. Once again, Velma was widowed at the death of her beloved Dale on July 6, 2009. Velma will be so very missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday January 25, 2011 in the Shipman Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Mike Cox officiating. Interment will be in the Graham Memorial Cemetery in Pryor, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Shipman's Funeral Cremation Service. Velma is survived by 2-Step Daughters; Jo Rhea Lansdown of Alva, OK and Shirley Neel of Pryor, OK; 5-Neices and Nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Reverend John Strutton and Reverend Dale Neel; 1-Brother; 2-Sisters; 3-Step-daughters; 1-Step-son and her parents, Ed and Ella Wesley.
