Vesta Mounce

Vesta Lou Mounce, 45, of Locust Grove, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at her home. She was born on September 3, 1975 in Pryor, Oklahoma; the daughter of Robby and Karen (Grubb) Mounce. She was born a triplet, and they have always lived together and have been very close. Vesta loved hugs, high fives and playing ball with her caregivers. She also loved when music came on and she was able to dance. Her caregiver’s children became family to her and Vesta looked forward to visiting with them. She was a sweet young lady with a bright smile and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m, Thursday, October 29, 2020 in the Blue Springs Church in Salina with Reverend Lorne Beck officiating. Burial will follow in the McClain Cemetery with Joyce Scroggins, Jerry Scroggins, Christina Pasley, Robert Pasley, Amber Thornton, and Robby Thornton serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 28, 2020 in the Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel. Vesta is survived by her sisters, Karen Lee Mounce and Irene Lynn Mounce; mother figure and guardian, Joyce Scroggins and husband Jerry; close friends, Christina Pasley, Amber Thornton, Cynthia Crabtree, and Samantha Exendine. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robby and Karen Mounce.
