Vickie Rush

Victoria "Vickie" Diana Rush, 65, of Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2014, at her home in Pryor, Oklahoma. She was born on November 24, 1948 in Kendalville, Indiana. She married Herald Rush who preceded her in death. She had lived in Pryor for 27 years moving here from Inola. Vickie was very active in her community, an active lifetime member of the Odd fellows and Elks Lodge of Pryor. She was very instrumental in starting the Dam Jam and very active in the Pryor Chamber of Commerce for many years. Vickie was a member of the First Christian-Presbyterian Church in Pryor, where she was very involved in church activities including the Saturday Seniors. Vickie and her husband, Herald, were the founders of the Pryor Herald Newspaper. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Vickie loved going to second hand stores buying stuff for family and friends. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend who will be remembered in all the memories she leaves. A Memorial Service will be held to Celebrate Vickie's life on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the First Christian-Presbyterian Church in Pryor with Rev. Anna Hubbard, Rev. Dean McDaniel and Rev. Ken Gerhart taking part in the services. The family ask that memorials be made to the MDA in her memory. She is survived by her children, Christopher Ferrell and wife, Karen of Pryor, OK and Barbara Shade and husband, Eric of Tulsa, OK; sister, Nancy Christine Davis-Gannon of San Antonio, TX; six grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; a very special friend, Bill Dickey; her ever faithful companion, her schnauzer, Rosie; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Barbara Handlen; her husband, Herald Rush; brother, Mark Davis; sisters, Kathy Jean Bryant and Patsy Jo Davis.
