Virgil Glenn Kingfisher, 58, of Chouteau, passed from this life on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 in Pryor. He was born on July 3, 1963 in Claremore, Oklahoma; the son of Steve and Maggie (Ballou) Kingfisher. He enjoyed watching sports, especially when it came to the Oklahoma State and the Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed playing a good round of golf. He could always be found watching Shawn play whatever sport he was participating in. Above all, he loved his kids and grandkids, and loved spending time with them. He was so proud of each and everyone of them. He leaves behind many memories for all to cherish and will be dearly missed.

Funeral services for Virgil will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 2, 2022, in the New Jordan Baptist Church with Reverend Floyd Kingfisher officiating. Burial will follow in the Grass Cemetery with Steven Kingfisher, Wesley Rhodes, James Kingfisher, Vernon Kingfisher, Ben Keener, and Shawn Kingfisher serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Ricky Morris, Tuffy Kingfisher, Nelson Kingfisher, Jesse Beck, Blake Stricklen, Michael Williams, and Logan Keener. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, May 1, 2022, at Shipman’s Funeral Home. To leave his family a message, please visit his Tribute Wall at www.shipmansfuneralhome.com. He is survived by his sons, Steven Kingfisher and Haley of Claremore and Shawn Kingfisher of Chouteau; daughters, Brandi Keener and husband Ben of Claremore, Bethanie Rhodes and Wesley of Tahlequah, Brooke Kingfisher of Pryor, and Breanna Kingfisher of Pryor; brothers, Nelson Kingfisher and Kay of Tahlequah, Vernon Kingfisher of Chouteau, and James Kingfisher of Chouteau; sisters, Carolyn Kingfisher of Locust Grove and Evelyn Kingfisher of Locust Grove; 7 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Maggie; brother, Melvin Kingfisher; sister, Agnes Kingfisher; and best friends, Johnny Morris and Chris Blossom.
