Ginger Lee Surber

Ginger Brown Surber was born in Nowata, OK on December 27, 1940, to John and Kathleen (Felton) Brown. She passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at her home in Pryor, OK at the age of 82.

She married Charles Surber on April 13, 1974, in Pryor, OK. After Charles retired in 1997, they moved back to Pryor. They raised three sons and one daughter together, Brett, Chuck, Robert, and Cheryl.

Ginger was very compassionate and has always had a love for helping others. For many years she worked as a Registered Nurse. She worked at Moots Hospital for many years and even taught nursing in 1975 at Vo-Tech in Pryor, OK.

She enjoyed traveling with her husband in their RV, seeing the beauty of God’s country whether it was the mountains, desert or seaside.

Ginger was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God, in Pryor. She had a love for God that grew stronger every day and was an awesome prayer warrior. She fought many battles on her knees, interceding for family, friends and many other loved ones. No matter what circumstances came her way, she never lost her faith in God. She cherished the fellowship she had with many friends from her childhood days. She first moved to Pryor in 1950 and graduated from Pryor High School in 1958. Although she has lived in Arkansas and Tulsa, she always loved Pryor and considered it home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Kathleen Brown.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Surber of the home; daughter, Chery Beeler of Pryor, OK; son, Brett and Lori Hutchison of Conroe, Texas; son, Chuck Surber of Ponca City, OK; son, Robert Surber of Broken Arrow, OK; 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

She was well loved by her family and a host of friends and will be greatly missed!

A memorial service for Ginger will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 30, 2023, at the Pentecostal Church of God in Pryor with Reverend Trae Mullin officiating.
