Wanda Lee Harris, 92, of Inola, Oklahoma, passed away on February 11, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born August 21, 1932, in Quincy, Illinois, she was a cherished matriarch and friend whose life was marked by dedication to family, varied interests, and a vibrant spirit.

Raised in a small community in the nurturing home of her aunt and uncle, George and Eva Rains, Wanda developed a strong sense of family and belonging from a young age. She was active in school activities and enjoyed many friendships, which endured over her lifetime. 

Family was Wanda’s greatest joy. She cherished her role as matriarch, showering her seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren with love and devotion, and delighting in participating in their school events and attending their sporting activities. Hosting countless holidays and barbecues on their deck, Wanda ensured every family gathering was a special and loving occasion. She nurtured close family ties and lasting traditions.Wanda enjoyed a variety of hobbies that spoke to her dynamic personality. She was an avid racquetball player, often competing against men and demonstrating her athleticism. Later in life, she took up quilting, creating beautiful baby quilts for her grandchildren, which serve as cherished keepsakes of her love and creativity. Her quilting circle was not only a source of delight but also a testament to the friendships she cultivated throughout her life. Wanda and her husband, Gene, enjoyed their racehorses and the many friendships they made during those racing years. Wanda is survived by her daughter, Diana Hollaway of Inola, OK, along with her seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward her legacy.

Wanda Lee Harris now rests with her beloved husband, Gene, her sons, Jerry, Dennis, and Kurt Harris, and her sister, Norma White. Wanda leaves a legacy of unwavering spirit and a heart overflowing with love for family and friends.
