Wayne Helton

Wayne Tod Helton, 86, of Adair, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at his home in Adair. He was born on March 14, 1927 in California, the son of John Lawrence Helton and Isabel (Morgan) Helton. He married Doris (Ragsdale) Stricklin on August 12, 1972 near Adair, Oklahoma. He owned and operated Helton's Feed Store in Adair, Oklahoma for over 30 years. He enjoyed playing pitch and traveling, especially to Branson. He was faithful to work on his church, making repairs that needed done. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be so very missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2013 in the First United Methodist Church in Adair, Oklahoma. Interment will follow in the Adair Cemetery with his Grandchildren serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening. He is survived by his wife, Doris of the home; three sons, Kerry and wife, Janet Stricklin of Mustang, OK, Roger Stricklin of Pryor, OK and Michael and Kathy Stricklin of Weedsport, NY; grandchildren, Jason, London, Eli, Matthew, Hannah, Emily, Bethany, Shawn, Stephen and Christopher; 9 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty; his parents, Lawrence and Isabel Helton; one daughter, Coral Ann Jones; one sister, Marjorie Bilyeu; one brother, David Helton; three nephews.
