Wayne York

Wayne R. York, 64, of Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 in a Tulsa Hospital. He was born on January 16, 1947 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the son of John C. York and Grace (Fleming) York. He grew up in Tulsa. Wayne married Carldean Rice on December 24, 1971 in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. He then entered the U. S. Army in June of 1973 faithfully serving his Country. Wayne was a welder by trade going to work for AXH Air Coolers in Claremore, Oklahoma in 2005. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Wayne also enjoyed wrestling and watching granddaughter, nieces and nephews play sports. Wayne loved his family and leaves many wonderful memories for them to cherish. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 28, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the Shipman's Funeral Chapel with Reverend Travis Martin officiating. Interment will be in the Graham Memorial Cemetery with Terry Stimpson, Carl Holland, Jay Stimpson serving as casket bearers. Wayne is survived by his wife, Carldean York of the home; his daughter, April Elaine Riley and husband, Allan of Alma, AR; one granddaughter, Brittany Lynn Riley; three brothers, Harold York and wife, Joann of Austin, TX, Carl York and wife, Lucy of San Antonio, TX and Don York and wife, Betty Ann of Houston, TX; Two brother in laws, Jerry Stimpson and wife, Diana of Pryor, OK and Ray and wife, Jake Rice of Montgomery, AL; one sister in law, Charlene Nielsen and the late J. J. Nielsen of Laverne, OK; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Grace York.
