Gwendolyn (Wendy) Opal Aubrey, 43, of Chouteau, passed away after a sudden illness on July 29th, 2019 in Tulsa. She was born on November 7, 1975 in Madera, California; the daughter of Kenneth and Marcia (Foust) Burrow. She married Benjamin Allen Aubrey on December 30, 1995 in Wagoner. Wendy graduated from Northeastern State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts and is also a graduate and alumni of Chouteau High School, Class of 1994. She has worked at Chouteau Public Schools most of her life as a High School Art, Humanities, and Photography teacher. She had a passion for helping people, especially for children in need. Wendy was deeply involved with Foster Care and had been a foster parent to many children. She was a member of Your Place Church in Pryor and served in many capacities there, mostly in hospitality. She loved her church, her Lord and looked forward to attending church events. She was very creative and artistic and expressed her love of color through painting, drawing, and photography. Wendy had a bright personality, and even brighter smile who touched the lives of everyone she met. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy for her family and friends to remember.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 8, 2019 at the Pleasant View Baptist Church in Pryor with Pastor Darian Rains officiating. Because of Wendy’s love of color, her family wishes that all in attendance wear bright colored clothing in honor of her.
