Si Wesley Skinner, 87, of Chouteau, passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 in Inola, Oklahoma. He was born on August 1, 1931 in Mazie; the son of Johnnie Wesley and Rosie Annie (Rice) Skinner. He married Opal Mae Roach on May 24, 1952 and have been happily married for over 66 years. He worked as a mechanic for many years for Spartan Engine Overhaul Company. He also cleaned at Whitaker Children's Home in Pryor. Wesley looked forward to spending time outdoors, especially when he was able to go fishing, work in the garden and farming. Wesley enjoyed his ice cream and watermelon. He and Opal have been members of the Assembly of God in Chouteau since 1960 and he enjoyed going to church services and listening to God's word. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 27, 2018 in the Grace Life Church in Pryor with Reverend Derek Melton officiating. Burial will follow in the Fisher Cemetery in Wagoner County. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, August 26, 2018 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. Wesley is survived by his wife, Opal Mae Skinner of the home; sons, Ricky M. Skinner and wife Cynthia of Chouteau, Oklahoma and Fredrick W. Skinner and wife Janet of Wagoner, Oklahoma; daughter, Frieda Pankratz and husband Dwight of Inola, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Rosie Annie Skinner; 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
