Willa Smith

Willa Mae Joann Smith, 78, of Pryor, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on June 7, 1938 in Pryor; the daughter of Charley and Lillie (Crowder) Loyd. Willa married Charles W. Smith on July 31, 1954 in Pryor and lived in the Pryor area all of their lives. She worked as a housewife, always working hard to make a great home for her husband and children. She loved to cook and have family gatherings and enjoyed being able to visit her with friends and family. Willa loved rocks, everywhere she went she would add a rock to her collection. She also enjoyed sewing, and crocheting, tending to her flower garden, and fishing. She also loved to sing, and sometimes would even yodel. Above all, Willa loved her family, especially when she could spend time with her grandchildren. She leaves behind many wonderful memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 23, 2017 in the Jubilee Ministries in Locust Grove, Oklahoma with Reverend John Blackwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery with Michael Smith, Mitchell Smith, Kyler Smith, Taylon Smith, Johnny Moore, Jr., and Charlie Moore serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 22, 2017 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. Willa is survived by her sons, Michael Smith and wife Cristi of Pryor, Oklahoma and Mitchell Smith and wife Samantha of Pryor, Oklahoma; daughters, Cynthia Smith of Pryor, Oklahoma and Judy Costner of Pryor, Oklahoma; sisters, Geneva Chamberlain of Adair, Oklahoma, Juanita Meeks of Adair, Oklahoma, Sue Jeffrey of Pryor, Oklahoma, and Judy Jones of Owasso, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charley and Lilly Loyd; husband, Charles Smith; and brother, Clifford Loyd.
