William Dickey

William "Pops" Jack Dickey, 76, of Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the Jack C. Montgomery Veterans Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was born on July 19, 1939 in Pittsburg, Kansas, the son of William T. Dickey and Irma Elizabeth (Watson) Dickey. He faithfully served his Country in the United States Army from 1958 to 1963. He worked for National Carrier driving a Truck for many years. Bill graduated from the 19th Oklahoma Highway Patrol Academy in 1965 working until 1971. He loved law enforcement, working as an officer for the City of Pryor and the Mayes County Sheriff's office as deputy. He was a jack of all trades. He was a bull and bronc rider, a cattle rancher, truck driver and a millwright. Jack was a member of the IOOF, American Legion and the Elks. He loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting. He leaves a legacy of love of Country and Family for each to cherish. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the First Christian Presbyterian Church with Reverend Anna Hubbard officiating. Honorary casket bearers are Reece Weaver, Shea Cleveland, Mark Johnson, Jeffrey Montre, Amber Alonzo, Heather Wren, Eric Dickey and Gary Dickey. He is survived by his daughters Terri Johnson and husband, Mark of Pryor, OK and Tanja Weaver (Randy Berumen) of Globe, Arizona; brother Gary Dickey and wife, Joy of Georgia; three grandchildren, Amber and Courtney Alonzo of Arizona and Reece and Deanna Weaver of Arizona and Shea Cleveland; one great grandchild, Elliot Alonzo; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by the mother of his children, Freda Dickey, his parents, William and Irma Dickey, nephew, James Dickey, and special companion, Vicki Rush.
