William Ross Sharp, born on March 20, 1959, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at the age of 64, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, brother-in-law, and friend to many.
He was a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many with his kind and friendly demeanor. He had an exceptional ability to make friends and was well-liked by everyone he encountered. His fluency in Cherokee language was one of his proudest accomplishments.
Throughout his life, William had numerous interests and hobbies that brought him joy. William was a dedicated member of Holy Mountain Church and actively participated in the children's ministry on Wednesday nights. He took great pleasure in attending church regularly and actively participating in various church activities. His involvement in the children's ministry showcased his compassionate nature towards younger generations.
In his leisure time, William enjoyed attending festivals with his family, fishing trips, and spending time in his garden. He also enjoyed collecting clowns and took pride in his collection. He had a special bond with his beloved dog, Griswold, and cherished the serene moments spent by the creek during summertime. William also took pride in raising and caring for his chickens.
William's loving presence will forever be cherished by his surviving family members. Dollie Sharp, his dedicated wife, and Nicholas Sharp, his beloved son, will hold dear the precious memories shared together. Diane Weaver of Langston, Alabama stands as William's sister. He leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Ross and Rachel (Hilderbrand) Sharp, along with numerous brothers. William's departure has left a void that will be deeply felt by all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
A funeral service for William will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at the Holy Mountain Church in Kenwood with Reverend Richard Budder and Sue Chancellor officiating. Burial will follow at Jumper Cemetery in Jay, Oklahoma with Darren Hummingbird, Dusty Hummingbird, Dion Hummingbird, James "Choogie" Buck, Damon Gourd, and James Hunter Proctor serving as casket bearers. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 12, 2023, in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel.
