William Yates

William Earl Yates, 89, of Pryor, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 in Pryor. He was born on June 12, 1928 in Cecilia, Kentucky; the son of William S. and Gracie (Sprinkle) Yates. He married the love of his life, Evelyn Gray on June 16, 1952 in Brandenburg, Kentucky and together raised 3 children. They moved to Pryor in 1982, coming from Michigan. Earl worked as a R.V. Technician most of his life at Dave's RV in Claremore. He enjoyed spending time outdoors; especially when it came time to go fishing. Earl never met a stranger, and would strike up a conversation with anyone, he was kind hearted and loved to help anyone in need. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Pryor and looked forward to attending church events and spending time with those he loved most. He leaves behind many wonderful memories, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 3, 2017 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Junior Mullin officiating. Burial will follow in the Graham Memorial Cemetery with Raymond Chandler, Matt Yates, Justin McCollough, Steve Howard, Trey Mullin, Alex Yates and Kyle Yates serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, July 2, 2017 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. Earl is survived by his daughters, Donna Moore of Pryor, Oklahoma and Darlene Cooper of Eastpointe, Michigan; Grandchildren raised as their own, Cheryl Masters of Pryor, Oklahoma and Matt Yates of Pryor, Oklahoma; brother, Virgil Yates and wife Nancy of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and caregiver, Carolyn Glazebrook of Pryor, Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Yates; son, Paul Yates; parents, William and Gracie Yates; son n law, Harold Moore and grandsons, Jamie Cooper and Jonathon Kenny.
