Windell Dee Jones

Windell Dee Jones, age 82, of Chouteau, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, surrounded by those who loved him. On June 2, 1961, Windell married the love of his life, Gloria (Tiger) Jones, in Pryor, Oklahoma. Together, they shared over six decades of love, laughter, and adventure. They were faithful members of First Baptist Church in Pryor, and their shared faith was a cornerstone of their life together. Windell worked for many years at the Lonestar Cement Plant in Pryor, where he was known for his strong work ethic, dedication, and friendly spirit. He was a proud 32nd Degree Mason and an active member of the Shriners, Scottish Rite, Odd Fellows, and Elks Lodge—always finding ways to give back and serve others. He and Gloria were avid travelers, having visited every state in the U.S. as well as several countries including Jamaica, the Bahamas, and Mexico. Windell especially loved hitting the road on his Harley-Davidson and had a lifelong passion for motorcycles. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and could often be found refinishing furniture or crafting beautiful, custom tables by hand. Each piece he created reflected the care and craftsmanship he poured into everything he did. Windell will be remembered for his kind heart, adventurous spirit, and deep love for his family. His legacy lives on in the memories he created and the lives he touched.

Windell is survived by his wife, Gloria Jones of the home; son, Rod Jones and wife Denise of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; brother, Wallace Jones and wife Elana of Padre Island, Texas; sister, Wanda Morgan and husband Jack of Neosho, Missouri; 6 grandchildren, Chris Bailey, Hannah Jones, Micah Jones, Joshua Jones, Matthew Jones, and Emma Jones; 4 great grandchildren, Winston, Violet, Oaklynn, and Jessie; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Margaret Jones; brothers, Willard Jones and Warren Jones, and sister, Wilma Olson.
